THE DRY LAKE LIGHTS

ODDKNOWN’s owner-imported folklore describes pale lights gliding across El Mirage Dry Lake after midnight in areas where no road appears visible. The physical location is well documented: the Bureau of Land Management manages El Mirage as an off-highway-vehicle recreation area west of Adelanto, with vehicle use, camping and ultralight-aircraft activity among its established uses. Research did not find an independent historical or paranormal source documenting this exact “dry lake lights” account. Because moving vehicles and aircraft are normal at El Mirage, distant lights can have ordinary explanations even when the travel path is difficult to see across the flat desert at night; that does not prove what any particular witness saw. The claim therefore remains unverified local folklore rather than a researched paranormal case. Public access is governed by current BLM fees, closures and recreation rules.
