THE MOJAVE RIVER FIGURE

ODDKNOWN’s owner-imported local folklore says a lone figure is sometimes seen standing in the Mojave River bed under moonlight and then appears to vanish. Research did not locate a named witness, dated incident, historical ghost account, newspaper report, or independent paranormal investigation matching this exact story. The Mojave River itself is well documented by the U.S. Geological Survey as an unusual desert river system whose surface flow, dry reaches, channels and groundwater relationships change across the basin, but that natural history does not provide evidence for a supernatural figure. Because the pin identifies only the broad river rather than a precise site, it would be misleading to attach the report to a particular crossing, settlement or tragedy without a source. The figure therefore remains unverified owner-imported folklore. Riverbed access varies by land ownership, and desert channels can become dangerous during storms or flash floods.
