THE ORO GRANDE GHOST TRAIN

ODDKNOWN’s owner-imported folklore says people near Oro Grande hear and feel a train pass even when no locomotive is visible. Research did not corroborate this exact “ghost train” account. In an interview about Haunted Route 66, author Brian Clune specifically distinguished Oro Grande from a phantom-train story at Goffs, saying the train connected with Oro Grande in his material was an actual train. Oro Grande does, however, have separate cemetery ghost lore: local-history writer material recounts a story in which visitors near Oro Grande Cemetery allegedly heard panicked voices after a train whistle, tied in the retelling to two teenagers said to have been killed by a train. San Bernardino County independently verifies the historic Oro Grande Cemetery, but not that paranormal incident. ODDKNOWN therefore keeps this pin as unverified local folklore and does not merge the cemetery story into it as fact. Active rail property is off-limits.
