THE ADELANTO SIGNAL FIRE

ODDKNOWN’s owner-imported folklore says a fire repeatedly appears on a ridge outside Adelanto and then vanishes before anyone can reach it. Research did not locate a named witness, dated incident, historical account, fire-department record, newspaper story, or independent paranormal source matching this exact “signal fire” claim. The surrounding Victor Valley includes desert recreation land, roads, private parcels and public land—including the BLM-managed El Mirage area west of Adelanto—so distant lights or real fires can have many ordinary sources; without a precise ridge, date, bearing or witness account, it would be irresponsible to choose one explanation or invent a ghost story. The recurring-fire report therefore remains unverified owner-imported folklore. Anyone who sees what may be a real wildfire should treat it as a safety issue rather than approach it for investigation and should use appropriate emergency reporting channels.
